Educational goals:

The purpose of this Course is to provide the scientific bases and the theoretical and practical preparation needed to exercise the medical profession: it also provides the methodological and cultural foundations for on-going education and the methodological groundwork for scientific research.
Over the whole curriculum, the student must therefore acquire a level of professional independence, in terms of decision making and action, such as to allow him to attend later levels of post-graduate education in a responsible and profitable manner.
It is also important for the graduate in Medicine and Surgery to get to know the ethical values of medicine, to be able to communicate in a clear and humane way with the patient and with family members, to cooperate with the various professionals in health care and team activity, and to be able to recognize community health problems.
The curriculum calls for obligatory internship activities.
