Educational goals:

The purpose of this Course is to educate health care operators who are able to provide – within their specific competence – , either independently or in a team with other health care professionals,  interventions of prevention, care and rehabilitation in the fields of motor skills (orthopaedic, traumatological, rheumatological, neurological pathologies), of higher cortical functions (language, visual and spatial, cognitive and behavioural disorders, dementia) and of visceral functions (pathologies of the cardiovascular, respiratory and uro-gynaecological systems) due to pathological events, involving children, adults and geriatric patients.
With reference to the physician's diagnosis and prescription and within the framework of his or her competences, the graduate develops the definition – also as a member of a multidisciplinary team – of the rehabilitation programme aimed at identifying and overcoming the health need of the disabled person; practices therapeutic activity for functional re-education of motor, psychological motor and cognitive disabilities, using physical and manual therapies, deep massage and work therapy; proposes the adoption of prostheses and the like, trains the patient to use them and monitors their efficacy; ensures that the rehabilitation method implemented is suitable to the goals of functional recovery; carries out studying, teaching and professional consultancy work in the field of health care services and where his or her professional skills are requested.

Employment opportunities:

The graduated Physiotherapist may work professionally inside public (Health Care Boards, Hospitals) and private bodies (Clinics, Nursing Homes), either as an employee or as a self-employed professional.
