Exemptions/reductions of enrolment fees and contributions

The following exemptions/reductions are envisaged for the A.Y. 2015-2016:

UNIVERSITY CONTRIBUTION EXEMPTIONS OR REDUCTIONS

  • Students with ISEE ≤ €15,000 (these students pay the first instalment only).
  • Students regularly enrolled (excluding those beyond the prescribed duration of their programme and students repeating a year) benefit from a reduction of €450 if they attain the 75th percentile or higher in the frequency distributions of credits and weighted average mark obtained for each course and year, by 31 October. Students with a greater number of enrolment years than the normal duration of the study programme and students who interrupted their studies are excluded.
  • Graduates from the systems provided for in Italian Ministerial Decree 509/99 and subsequent amendments who obtained their bachelor degree with marks of at least 100 out of 110 and completed their study programme within the normal duration (without validation of training activities from previous educational careers or enrolments) are partially exempt from the university contributions, for the amount of € 200, if they enrol in a master degree programme.
  • Foreign students coming from Developing Countries (as defined by Italian Ministerial Decree no. 594 of 01/08/2014) whose household lives in their Country of origin without income or assets in Italy, owe the minimum amount required for their study programme.

EXEMPTIONS OR REIMBURSEMENTS OF THE ENROLMENT FEES AND UNIVERSITY CONTRIBUTIONS (they pay only the Regional Tax for the Right to Higher Education)

  • Students with disabilities ≥ 66%.
  • Students eligible for scholarships and scholarship holders.
  • Foreign students benefiting from a scholarship from the Italian Government in the framework of development cooperation programmes and cultural and scientific intergovernmental agreements.
  • Students imprisoned by final judgement in prisons with which an agreement exists.

REDUCTIONS FOR FINAL-YEAR STUDENTS

  • Those students who intend to obtain their final degree in the degree sessions of the academic year 2015-2016 and who do not apply for a scholarship for the new academic year, when submitting their enrolment application for the new year are exempt from payment of the first instalment. If they have failed to obtain the degree at the end of those sessions, they shall pay the amounts due immediately.
  • Enrolled students who obtain their degree by 30 April 2017, as graduates of the new academic year, attaining credits or attending courses in the first teaching period of the academic year 2016-2017, owe the whole amount of the enrolment fees and regional tax for the right to higher education and half of the required university contributions based on their economic status.
  • Students who enrol for the first time beyond the prescribed duration of their programme in the academic year 2016-2017 and who only have to obtain credits for the final examination receive a 25% reduction in the contribution.
