The PhD Program in Molecular Genetics, Biotechnologies and Experimental Medicine is subdivided in three curricula:

Curriculum in Molecular Genetics Applied to Medical Sciences:
Genome Analysis
Comparative Genomics
Next-Generation Sequencing and Exome Sequencing with Ion Proton Technology—Bioinformatics
Biology of the genome and epigenome
Pharmacogenetics and Pharmacogenomics
Nutrigenetics and Nutrigenomics
Regulatory mechanisms of transcriptional and post-transcriptional gene expression, and epigenetics
Study of monogenic and complex genetic diseases, and of familiar forms of cancer
Study of the transcriptome, of miRNoma and epigenome in monogenic and complex genetic diseases and familiar forms of cancer—RNA editing in neurobiology
Epigenetic regulation of microRNAs in human HCC
Generation of pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) models for the study of genetic diseases
Development of genetic or molecular tools, diagnostic and therapeutic, for genetic diseases and cancers, sporadic and hereditary.

Medical Biotechnologies-Study of genes and proteins involved in the regulation of cellular and systemic homeostasis of iron
Biochemistry of intracellular trafficking
Characterization of extra-cellular vesicles (EVS)
New-generation diagnostic markers
Cloning, expression and biochemical characterization of heterologous proteins in bacterial and mammalian cells
Glycobiology, with particular reference to the biology of sialic acid
Biogenesis and biochemistry of lysosomes
Skeletal muscle and sarcoma biology

Agri-Food Biotechnology—Food safety & security: new biotechnological approaches

Role of environmental risk factors in the etiology and evolution of bladder tumor
