Erasmus Mundus Programme LEADER Project

The University of Brescia - Health&Wealth is the partner for the Erasmus Mundus LEADER (Links in Europe and Asia for engineering, eDucation, Enterprise and Research exchanges), coordinated by the University of Sannio.

The project reference person for the University is Giorgio Sberveglieri, Full Professor of Experimental Physics at the Department of Information Engineering.

The project aims at promoting and strengthening cooperation between Europe and Asia, by means of student and staff mobility in both directions.

The initiative partners are other European Universities (Extremadura in Spain, Evora in Portugal, Crete in Greece, University of Latvia) and many Asian Universities in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and DPRK.

We currently have 4 students at our university (3 PhD students and 1 Master's) from Asia, specifically from Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and India, for long-term mobility programmes (34 or 24 months).

The call for the second mobility cohort has been opened and the deadline for application is Friday 11 March 2016.

The application must be submitted according to the procedure and directly on the LEADER Project website.

The project refunds travel costs up to €2,000 and provides a monthly scholarship as follows:

  • 3-year degree and Master's students: €1,000 per month;
  • PhD: €1,500 a month
  • post-doc: €1,800 per month;
  • teaching staff: €2,500 per month.
