Exhibition - Orlando furioso. 500 years. What Ariosto saw when he closed his eyes.

A large exhibition will bring the masterpieces of the Renaissance protagonists to Ferrara, from Mantegna to Leonardo, from Raffaello to Michelangelo and Tiziano.

On the occasion of fifth centenary of the publication of the first edition of Orland furioso, the Ferrara Art Foundation is celebrating this masterpiece of global literature with the exhibition "Orlando furioso 500 anni".  What Ariosto saw when he closed his eyes.

The exhibition intends to return to the public the fascinating universe of images that populated Ludovico Ariosto's mind as he composed the poem.

Visitors will thus be taken on an exciting journey into the Ariosto universe, among battles and tournaments, knights and loves, desires and magic.  To guide visitors and help them relive the fantastic world of chivalry of the Furioso will be the works of the greatest Renaissance artists, along with sculptures, miniatures, tapestries, weapons, books and objects of extraordinary beauty and preciousness.
