Admission to the Bachelor's Degrees in Economics

Bachelor's Degrees Programmes of the Departments of Economics and Management a.y. 2019/2020

  • Business Administration (5 curricula)
    - curriculum in Business: third year taught in English
    ​- New offer since a.y. 2019/2020: Curriculum in Economics and Management of Cultural Activities (classes are held in Mantua)

Note that these bachelor’s degrees are all taught in Italian, with the exception of the third year of the Degree in Economics and digital firm and of the third year of the curriculum in Business of the Degree in Business Administration.

The entry test needed for the admission to the bachelor’s degree programs is provided in Italian language.

Study programmes are structured over three years and provide for the acquisition of a total of 180 CFU (university credits)

Admission requirements 
Admission to the Bachelor’s Degree course requires a high school diploma or equivalent qualification obtained abroad. Admission of students in possession of suitable qualifications from abroad is regulated by the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research's ‘Regulations for Admission of Foreign Students to University Programmes‘. Regulations for students in possession of qualifications obtained abroad can be found in the International Students area of the website. 
 

ADMISSION TEST: TOLC-E

Mandatory TOLC-E test (Online Test for Economics) organized by the University of Brescia in cooperation with CISIA, a national Consortium of Universities. This test is NOT selective and has the scope of evaluating whether the students’ preparation in the basic disciplines is adequate and consistent with the entry requirements needed to successfully attend the chosen degree program.
 

TOLC-E TEST

TOLC-E is an online computer-based test and it consists of 66 multiple choice questions (only one answer is correct) subdivided in four areas as follows:

Logic area (13 questions)
Verbal comprehension area (10 questions),   
Mathematics area (13 questions),
English Language area (30 questions).

The allowed time for the test is 1 hour and 45 minutes.

TOLC-E CALENDAR

The University of Brescia plans to provide several sessions of the TOLC-E at its Brescia and Mantua headquarters, as indicated below:

These sessions are open to students with a high school diploma or other qualification obtained abroad recognized as suitable and to students attending the last two years of the high school (4th and 5th years of the high school).

TOLC-E sessions of SEPTEMBER 2020
These sessions are only open to students with a high school diploma or other qualification obtained abroad recognized as suitable.

 

Brescia headquarter:  TOLC-E will be held in the computer labs of the Department of Economics and Management in Via S. Faustino, 64 (Brixia Building) or in Contrada S. Chiara, 50 (S. Chiara Building). The assigned computer lab is indicated in the receipt released by CISIA.

Mantua headquarter: TOLC-E will be held in the computer lab of the University Mantova Foundation, Via Scarsellini n. 2.

REGISTRATION to the TOLC-E

 

Candidates have to electronically register to TOLC-E on the CISIA website TOLC-E. A payment of 30 € is required.

Impaired students can indicate their needs in advance in order to take advantage of special aids during the registration.

TOLC-E RESULT and ENROLLMENT TO THE BACHERLO’s DEGREE PROGRAMS

The final score of the TOLC-E is computed as follows:

For the Logic, Verbal comprehension, and Mathematics areas 1 point is assigned to each correct answer, 0 points to any not-given answers and a penalization of -0.25 is assigned to any wrong answer.
For the English language area, 1 point is assigned to each correct answer and 0 points for wrong or not-given answers.
 

At the end of the test, each student immediately has the result of its test as whole, and the score obtained in each area. If the student has achieved a score greater than or equal to 4 out of 13 in the Mathematics area, she/he can enroll in any Bachelor's Degree Program
in Economics of the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Brescia, according to the instructions indicated in the relevant Announcements / Notices that will be published on this page. 
 

RESULTS of the EARLY TOLC-E (MARCH-JULY, 2020): Candidates who obtain a score greater than or equal to 4 out of 13 in the Mathematics area can enroll once she/he will get the high school diploma. Candidate who obtain a score lower than 4 out of 13 in the Mathematics area can repeat the test TOLC-E once per month (at most).

RESULTS of the TOLC-E (SEPTEMBER 2020): Candidates who obtain a score greater than or equal to 4 out of 13 in the Mathematics area can enroll. Candidate who obtain a score lower than 4 out of 13 in the Mathematics area can enroll with the application of Further Required Courses (OFAs) in the Mathematics area, which are learning debts that students acquire if they don’t obtain a certain score in the admission test.

 

OFAs

OFAs are assigned to:
- students who in the September 2020 test achieved a score lower than 4 out of 13 in the Mathematics area;
- students who, for whatever reasons, could not do the TOLC-E test;
- students who make a late enrollment and who have not taken the TOLC-E or made it without reaching the score of 4 out of 13 in the Mathematics area.
