Reductions

Exemptions/reductions for invalidity/disability - 2018/19 A.Y.

Students with a percentage of disability between 50% and 65%, referred to the Article.8, paragraph 7 of the Prime Ministerial Decree dated 9th April 2001, benefit from a reduction in the overall contribution of €300. 
For students with a greater percentage of invalidity or with recognition of a disability pursuant to article 3, paragraph 1, of Italian Law 104/92 are exempt from the overall contributionr.  
 
Reductions for students who have been granted political asylum and international protection - 2018/19 A.Y. 

Students who have been granted asylum and/or political refuge, international, subsidiary and/or humanitarian protection benefit from a reduction of 30% on the annual overall contribution. 
 
Reductions for brothers/sisters - 2018/19 A.Y. 

The brothers/sisters of students enrolled at the University of Brescia benefit from a reduction in the overall annual university  contribution calculated on the basis of the position of the student and the ISEE until the first year beyond the normal duration of the study programme of the first brother/sister registered.

The benefit is granted on condition that the brothers/sisters have the same residence and are included in the same nuclear family with ISEE (Equivalent Financial Situation Indicator) value for the benefits for the right to university education less than or equal to € 100,000.00.

The reduction is equal to:

  • 45% of the overall contribution (with the exception of the regional tax and stamp duty) for students with an ISEE for benefits for the right to university education less than or equal to € 29,999.99;
  • 25% of the overall contribution (with the exception of the regional tax and stamp duty) for students with an ISEE for benefits for the right to university education exceeding € 30,000.00 and less than or equal to € 49,999.99. 
  • 20% of the overall contribution (with the exception of the regional tax and stamp duty) for students with an ISEE for benefits for the right to university education exceeding € 50,000.00 and less than or equal to € 100,000.00.
  • There is no reduction for students with an ISEE for benefits for the right to university education exceeding € 100,000.00 or for students who do not have an ISEE certificate.

Reductions for students engaged in educational activities abroad- 2018/19 A.Y.

  • Students engaged in educational activities abroad within the context of international agreements who acquire  more than 12 University Credits per semester abroad, are entitled to areductionof the contribution of € 30.00 for each University Creditacquired beyond the twelfth per semester.  
     
  • Students engaged in educational activities abroad within the context of international agreements (non-Erasmus, including activities aimed at obtaining a joint degree), where international agreements require charges to be paid by the student,areexemptfrom university contributions (second and third instalment) proportionally to the period spent abroad due to the inability to use the educational facilities provided by the university. This is without prejudice to any different provisions contained in the international agreements currently in force.          

Reductions for pregnant students - 2018/19 A.Y.

Pregnant students,limited to programmes without the obligation of attendance, have the possibility to take advantage, alternatively to interrupting their studies, of the reduction of 50% of the student contribution (excluding regional tax for the right to education  and the stamp duty) for the birth of each child born during the period from 1st August 2018 to 31st July 2019.

To qualify for this reduction it is necessary to submit the request and the birth certificate of the child at the Student's Service and Information Unit helpdesk at Via San Faustino 74/b. 

 
Reductions for part-time students (only for certain programmes)
 Reduction in the contribution equal to 35% (calculated only on the second and third instalment);  
 

Discounts for registrations to individual courses

  • For all graduates of the University of Brescia who enrol in individual courses, the contribution is determined on the basis of the value of the ISEE of the nuclear family;
  • exemption from the contribution for enrolment in individual courses for students enrolled on the UNIBS Doctoral programmes and in the Schools of Specialization;

 

 

REDUCTIONS FOR MERIT INDEPENDENT OF ECONOMIC CONDITIONS  
 

Reductions for secondary school leavers who achieved scores of 100/100 in their final year examinations

  • exemption from contribution (second and third instalment) for the first year of the programme for students who have enrolled in a degree programme for the first time having scored 100/100 or 100 cum laude in their final secondary school leaving examination (maturità) (just the payment of the first instalment of € 156 consisting of the regional tax for the right to education and stamp duty is required)

 
Reductions for those registered (ex officio) 2018/19 A.Y.

  • Students enrolled in the programme, excluding those beyond the prescribed duration of their programme and  those repeating years,benefit from the reduction of € 450.00 on the orverall annual contribution (second and third instalment), of they have jointly reached the threshold of merit in reference to both the educational credits amf the weighted average score, with regard to the programme they belong to and the year of registration of the previous academic year. 

This threshold of merit is determined for each study programme and year of programme, on the basis of the frequency distribution of the university credits and weighted average score of the relevant and is identified at the 75th percentile of both frequency distributions.
 
The term of reference for the possession of the merit requirements is established on  31st October 2018 and they are determined ex officio by the University.
Not being enrolled for a greater number of years than normal duration of the programme and not having interrupted the studies is also a condition for taking advantage of the benefit.  
The table of merit will be published in the first few months of  2019.
 
Reductions for UNIBS Bachelor's degree graduates with a score of at least 100/110 who register to a Master's degree programme

  • Graduatesof the  university legal systems specified in Ministerial Decree 509/99 and subsequent amendments who have obtained a Bachelor's degree at the University of Brescia with a score of at least 100 out of 110 and have concluded the study programme for which the Degree is awarded, within the normal length of time and without the validation of educational activities from prior careers or  enrolments, are partially exempted from university contributions for an amount of€ 200.00 when registering for a Master's degree programme at the University.

Reductions for final year students

Registered students who obtain their degree by April 30th, as graduates of the new academic year, acquiring credits or attendances for courses situated in the first educational period of the new academic year, owe the full amount of the regional tax for the right to education and half of the university contributions provided for on the basis of their economic situation.

The reduction does not apply to students who obtain their degree by 30th April if they have interrupted their studies in the previous  academic year even if the student was only missing the final exam.
