The NANOPHI project

The NANOPHI project, funded by the ERASMUS MUNDUS Action 2 Strand 2 program, is coordinated by the University of Brescia. The project will run from 2014 to 2018 with the purpose of strengthening partnerships between leading European and Asian Pacific research groups in the cutting-edge field of nanophotonics. By squeezing light down to the nanoscale, NANOPHI aims to challenge existing technological limits and help to deliver superior photonic devices. Opportunities range from telecommunications to health care.

Overall goals:
  • foster international cooperation between universities in Australia and New Zealand and universities in EU countries;
  • establish a common framework for education and training in the field of nanophotonics.

The NANOPHI consortium: University of Brescia, King’s College London, Aston University, University of Crete, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Université Paris Diderot – Paris 7, Sofia University, Massey University, the Australian National University.
