MSCA Individual Fellowships

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships (IF) support international mobility of experienced researchers between countries in Europe or between a European country and a country outside of Europe. MSC fellows carry out their own research project in collaboration with a host institution, and thus have the chance to boost their career by developing new scientific competences and gaining international and collaborative research experience.

There are two types of Individual Fellowships:

  • European Fellowships: They are held in EU or associated countries and are open to researchers either coming to Europe or moving within Europe for a period of one to two years. This action can help researchers that resume their career after a break or move back to Europe.
  • Global Fellowships: These actions fund secondments outside Europe for researchers based in EU or associated countries for a period of one to two years, plus a mandatory return period of one year.

Candidates should, at the time of the deadline for submission, be in possession of a doctoral degree or have at least four years of full-time equivalent research experience, and have not resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc…) in Italy for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to the call deadline. Researchers from all academic disciplines can apply.

The grant provides an allowance to cover living, travel and family costs; research costs and overheads of the host organization are also supported.
