The aim of the course is to give the student the basic knowledge of the manufacturing processes of mechanical components. After a first overlook on the feasibility analysis, mechanical manufacturing processes will be analyzed: casting, plastic deformation and machining. Non- conventional machining will then be analyzed: laser, electrical discharge ed electrochemical machining. Theoretical models that describe above processes and their relative processing machines will be described. Finally, rapid prototyping, assembly and coordinate measuring machines will be covered. At the end of the course the student will be able to define the best technological solution, process and system to realize a product.
