The course aims to clarify the epistemological status of pedagogy with particular attention to physical and sport education. For this reason it proposes to explain the difference between education and training. Through the analysis of specific cases it aims to show the principle of freedom in education in the peculiar contexts of the game and sport. In particular: 1. Definition of education and pedagogy. 2. Pedagogy and its specific in human sciences. 3. Behaviorist and training approach in physical and sport education. 4. The intrinsic components of education. 5. Freedom as a central element of education. 6. Intentionality and intention. 7. The adolescence 7. Role of the game and its centrality in human development. 8. The public forms of the game: the sport. 9. Competence and competition in the practice of physical and sport education.

In addition to the lectures that will be enriched by activations through multimedia applications and tools (a.e. Padlet, Youtube, Power Point, Prezi, etc.), students will have additional material available on the dedicated Moodle platform, which will also provide self-assessment questionnaires
The evaluation of the module, which aims to highlight the knowledge, skills and competences acquired) takes place with three complementary strategies. The first involves the verification of the learning of the contents of the course bibliography by means of a quantitative questionnaire with closed questions (thirty questions). Candidates will be prepared through self-tutorials on the Moodle platform. The activity will be carried out in the classroom, in virtual mode. Secondly, the candidates will have to perform a task in the form of a case analysis that will be the subject of an evaluation of the pedagogical skills acquired through peer to peer strategy (through the moodle tool workshop) in which, in addition to the individual evaluation of a colleague's task (received in blinded mode) based on criteria provided by the teacher. The activity will be carried out in domestic form and will last for ten days. Thirdly, they will have to elaborate a medium and long term design starting from a narration of a critical incident offered by the teacher in order to identify the problem solving competence in a simulated situation. The activity will be carried out in the presence.
