Before starting this course, students should have acquired a fairly good competence in English level B1. We strongly suggest further practice of basic skills for those who do not have this prerequisite.
During the first part of the course students will acquire/improve their ability to understand and produce both written and oral scientific texts. Particular attention will be given to the lexical, syntactic and pragmatic aspects of English connected with students’ future profession. In the second part of the course, more specific lectures on the healthcare figures’ main aspects and tasks will be held: lectures will include practical exercises, interactive activities and the analysis of scientific materials.
The course plans to develop the students' competences in relation to grammatical structures, vocabulary and functional language relevant to professional practices.
The course will provide the necessary linguistic means to communicate, write and understand at an appropriate professional level.
