Educational Goals

Training objective setting
The course of medical statistics is integrated with other methodological disciplines such as epidemiology and social statistics. The learning objectives are:
1) the main theoretical knowledge of the subject, in its two main branches: descriptive statistics and inferential statistics
2) familiarity with the collection, tabulation and analysis of data set from the study of quali-quantitative variables most frequently encountered in prevention interventions and health promotion, both of the individual and of the community

Extended Syllabus

Extended program: what to study, what answers.
The measurement of uncertainty definition of universe and sample, sampling theory, random error and systematic error, definition of bias evaluation sample variables, discrete variable representation ranges; discrete variable representation ranges
The Gauss curve: the meaning and use: the relationship between area and frequency of events frequency tables: the percentages, cumulative percentages, percentile
Measures of central tendency: mean, median measures of spread: the variance and standard deviations
Bivariate analysis
Exercises SD graphical representations on the theory learned comment by scientific papers: technical - methodological and scientific content analysis

Teaching Methods

Teaching method:
lectures, classwork, exercises to strengthen the theoretical aspects. Work from home deliveries

Assessment Methods

Method of evaluating ongoing test is provided at the end of the course, covering both the theoretical aspects and the practical aspects, with exercises to be carried out during the test. Students will use the calculator and see yoru notes and will have 1 hour and 30 minutes to perform. The individual written test will be discussion with individual learners to complete the rating of individual evalutation.
