Adequate knowledge of anatomy, biochemistry, physiology and pathophysiology. Proper knowledge of general pharmacology.
At the end of the Course, the student will be aware of the fundamentals of the principles for the proper use of medications. The course will focus on the classification, mechanisms of action, the therapeutic use and adverse effects of of the drugs most commonly used in clinical practice.
The Module provides students with an overview of Pharmacology, with an emphasis on clinical applications within the context of the nursing practice.
Cardiovascular pharmacology. Pharmacology of haemostasis. Endocrine pharmacology. Pharmacology of the respiratory and gastrointestinal systems. Pharmacology of inflammation and allergy. Neuropsychopharmacology.

The exam of General Pharmacology will be conducted at the same time for all the modules of the course Application of diagnostic and therapeutic processes, through the Moodle program in computer labs. Questions will be in multiple choice format.
