The course aims to foster the development of knowledge and understanding from the statistical point of view of the issues of corporate finance and financial analysis in general, in view of general management and with particular attention to the development of strategic skills and decision-making.
In particular, the student will have to develop independent judgment in the collection, analysis and interpretation with methodological rigor of data and information concerning various financial and business situations.
With respect to communication skills, the course requires to acquire ability to know how to communicate with high appropriateness and effectiveness the statistical information and financial results, both in general and in business, to both specialist and non-specialist.
Students who successfully complete this course should be able to:
- Understand foundations of financial risk management and business intelligence;
- Identify appropriate statistical methods and graphs for financial data analysis;
- Develop skills to represent and solve standard statistical problems in finance and business;
- Know the main multivariate statistical models for finance and business analyses;
- Use the personal computer to carry out financial and business data analysis.
