It is raccomended to have passed the exam of Calculus I.
This course is a calculus-based introduction to the classical theory of probability as well as to statistical analysis of data and to the main statistical tests.
This course consists of two parts: theoretical lectures and applied ones (including examples and exercises). Program: Probability. Random variables. Multivariate distributions. Samples. Estimates.
1. Probability
Probability. Events. Definition and basic properties of probability. Conditional probability, Bayes law. Random variables, partition and distribution function, expectation, variance. Special distributions. Multivariate distributions.
2. Statistics
Statistics. Samples. Estimates. Methods for finding estimates. Pointwise and interval estimates. Linear regression. Ordinary Least Squares.
