The course aims to provide students with a greater awareness of the transformations that have characterized the production models (in the industry, but not only) since the early decades of the 20th century. Such transformation have involved both technological and organizational changes in the firms. The course analyses the implications of these changes on the working conditions, on the life of the employees, on the industrial relations.
The course - besides cognitive goals- develops specific students’ skills, useful to operate in more flexible organizations that require greater participation / involvement of workers; the course intends to increase, especially, the students' decision-making and negotiation skills, using case analysis, role-playing and simulations.
At the end of the course, the student will have gained greater awareness of the transformations that have characterized production models in industry (but not only) since the early decades of the 20th century. The student will have a clear perception of the implications of these changes on working conditions, on the life of the employed, on industrial relations.
In addition to the cognitive objectives, the course develops specific student's skills, useful for operating in more flexible organizations that require greater worker participation / involvement; in this perspective, the student will increase his decision-making and negotiating skills, through the use of case analysis, role-playing games and simulations.
