The course aims at giving basic knowledge to understand the general principles for management to be applied in different companies and contexts.
Knowledge and understanding. The course aims at giving students the fundamental principles of business administration, as a social science, that is the knowledge about different types of companies, how they work, the relevant stakeholders and the environment in which they operate, according to the following approach: company as a system (management, organization, information); centrality of the people; balance among income, monetary and financial aspects; economic progress as a tool for civil and social progress; relationships with stakeholders.
Applying knowledge and understanding. The course aim at developing the capacity of understanding and talking about the main business issues, also by means of adequate data and information.
Making judgements. Students should accrue an adequate ability to make judgements, that is the ability to analyse and critically interpret the main characteristics of different types of companies.
Communication. Students should acquire an appropriate language to express thoughts about business management matters.
Lifelong learning skills. The course aims at encouraging the capacity of self-learning to understand and deepen current business phenomenon and issues.
