Knowledge of the basic disciplines are required (calcolus, physics, technical physics, electrotechnics and construction science)
The course has the objective to providing basic knowledge regarding metrology and measure management in industrial processes, the design of the measuring system needed for the evaluation of the main physical quantities in mechanical and thermal field.
A particular object of the course is to ensure that students acquire the skills needed to be a part of the experimental activity aimed at the diagnosis, monitoring and testing, while on the other the necessary sensitivity for the interpretation of measurement results.
The course is divided into 3 modules: Mathematical methods for the management of Measurements (Statistics) General Metrology (norms, metrological terms, procedures) Measurement systems in the industrial sector (methods, technical aspects, tools)
Probability (outline) Introduction to Statistics Random variables Mean, Variance. Discrete distributions Continuous distributions Transformation of random variables Random variables in multiple dimensions - Joint distributions, covariance, correlation, independence Statistical inference Confidence Interval Linear regression Introduction to metrology International system Uncertainty - UNI / ISO 13005 Static characteristics of measuring instruments Dynamic characteristics of measuring instruments A/D conversion - Numerical analysis of signals Industrial Mechanical and Thermic Measurements Dimensional Measurements Measurements of Position and Acceleration: vibrations Measurements of Strain and Stress Measurements of Force Measurements of pressure and speed of the fluids Temperature Measurement
