The course aims to provide students with knowledge of the basic categories of Criminal Law, which are essential in order to understand the single offences of the Special Part.
The constitutional principles of Criminal Law (specifically, the principles of legality, offense and guilt) and the main institutions of the general part of Criminal Law will be analysed during the course in the light of how they are actually applied.
The course is structured as lectures, during which the lecturer encourages active participation by the students through continual examination of actual case studies, the solution to which is discussed with the students
Attending students are required to take a written test at the end of the year, to follow the oral test. Non-attending students shall take the oral test only.
