Prerequisites to this course concern the skills learnt during Technical Drawing course: reading and carrying out drawings of mechanical parts, complete with tolerances and surface roughness indication.
The educational goals are are divided into two parts. The first part aims to give the student the ability to make and interpret technical drawings containing geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. The second part concerns the learning of a parametric 3D CAD system.
Mechanical Technical Drawing - CAD
New standards for linear dimensions. GPS/GD&T language in accordance with ISO and ASME standards. Interdependence between the size and shape. Classification of geometric tolerances. Indication of geometric tolerancing on drawings. Datum. Shape Tolerances. Orientation tolerances. Position tolerances. Profiles tolerances. Oscillation tolerances. Tolerances for non-rigid or flexible parts.

Exam consists of three tests: a closed-ended test, an open-ended test and a CAD test. The open-ended test is allowed to those who pass the closed-ended test. The CAD test is successfully passed with a eligibility assessment that can be achieved independently of the other tests. The closed-ended test is done by PC. Students can training test by logging on to: http://elearning.unibs.it/mod/quiz/view.php?id=56988 The open-ended test concern the carrying out of problems that focus single skills of Geometric Product specification. In the course web page (http://elearning.unibs.it/course/view.php?id=10246 ) there are some exam text of carried out and commented, both for open-ended test and for CAD test.
