The course "Systems for Industry and PLC" introduces the student to the knowledge of electronic instruments for industrial automation. The module consists of 4 sections: 1) Introduction to electronic systems for automation. It addresses the context of industrial automation, introducing sensors, actuators and control logic and signaling 2) PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). It analyzes the PLC in terms of architecture, types, applicability, programming, with reference to the proposed new Soft-PLC. There will be lectures and laboratory exercises (Ladder language). 3) Introduction to SCADA systems. Is faced with the problem of supervision and operator interface systems SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), alternating lectures and programming exercises in the laboratory (Labview). 4) Distributed systems and fieldbus. After a brief reference to the telecommunications networks, focuses on smart sensors and field bus, with hints of distributed programming applied to cases of ASI and PROFIBUS.
