The course will be structured as follows:
- Introduction;
- Themes:
- Territorio and jurisdictio: power, government, law in medieval times;
- Dominante and territorio: Venetia and its territory; Brescia and its province;
- Modern Europe and its borders: jus commune and overseas colonies;
- Contemporary Europe and its borders: ‘800 - ‘900 colonization; the peculiar case of the Mixed Courts.
During the course, students will carry out individual or group researches, monitored by the teacher, concerning specific issues mentioned during the taught lessons. The researches will be presented to the class at the end of the course.
