The final evaluation is made by a written exam. The exam is composed by three parts: 10 multiple choice questions (1 point each); 5 open questions with short answers (2 points each) and one open problem-solving question (10 points). Part 1 is designed to evaluate students’ knowledge and understanding, Part 2 to evaluate their knowledge and understanding and their communication skills, while Part 3 tests their ability to apply knowledge and understanding and their ability to make judgements.
During the course the professor will invite students to produce - individually or in small groups - no more than 3 "Question & Answer (Q&A)" (1 page max) about interesting and challenging organizational issues they are facing during the course. Participation is on a voluntary basis.
Each Q&A will be evaluated by the professor (positive/negative) and 2 positive evaluations will imply 2 more points (bonus) on the final mark (bonus will be applied only in case of positive basic mark, i.e. 18). Q&A negative evaluations will not have any implication on the final exam. Only 1 positive evaluation will not imply any bonus.
Furthermore, attending students (those that attend at least 65% of the lectures) are expected to answer only to Part 2 and 3 of the final exam. In case they answer also to Part 1, it will be included in the final evaluation.
The Q&A bonus and the attendance benefit are valid for all the exam sessions of the academic year in which they are reached, however students could use the Q&A bonus and the attendance benefit only once in that period.
