In the scope of knowledge of the basic sciences established by CdS (as indicated in the original Attachment 52s of area decrees written by Prof. Sapelli, the previous dean of the dental school that evolved in the LM-46 attachment) at the completion of the course, the student will be able to know, understand and/or be able to show the:
- Comprehension of the concept of well-being and prevention, and of its application in the field of Medicine and Community Dentistry.
- Aquisition of theoric knowledge, of critical skills and clinical criteria in the field of Community Dentistry.
- Aquisition of competences for relating to oral diseases from the prevention's point of view.
- Aquisition of the competences in the field of organisational criteria of an epidemiological survey, standardized on Oral Health by the OMS.
- Aquisition of competences in the evaluation and calculation of the main indicators of oral health recognized in the international field.
- Aquisition of the competences to distinguish the features of Epidemiology and Clinic in Dentistry
- Aquisition of the knowledge in the field of health sociology
- Aquisition of the knowledge in the field of the methodology of the management of health services.
- Aquisition of the knowledge related to the demographic and epidemiologic factors of diseases and of their prevention and therapy.
- Aquisition of the competences to identify the priorities of the intervention related to the population's needs, taking part with other people to the planning of interventions for the reduction of oral diseases, based on the principles and practice of Community Dentistry.
- Aquisition of the competences of communication with the patient and of education on the promotion of oral health and dental prevention.
- Aquisition of the competences regarding the identification of the population groups at risk of developing oral diseases and the planning, realization and critical revision of specific preventive interventions.
