Course formative objective is to acquire historical knowledge of the economic development in world history from te Middle Ages to the XXth century
Economic History covers topics in world economic history from the Middle Ages to the XXth century. THe course focuses on the causes of economic development and the economic forces shaping social institutions in various periods.
1. Preindustrial economy: the demand. 2. Preindustrial economy: the supply. 3. Preindustrial economy: urban revolution, population, money and credit, technology, economic policy. 4. Preindustrial economy: 1000-1300, 1300-1500, 1500-1700. 5. The industrial revolution:the English model. 6. The industrial revolution: the first comers. 7. The industrial revolution: the late comers. 8. The industrialised countries. 9. The global economy in the first half of the 20th century. 10. The golden age (1945-1970) 11. The Italian model.
