For the profitable fruition of the teaching it is necessary to have basic knowledge of notions of physiology, microbiology and clinical microbiology
At the end of the course the student will be able of: - To understand the meaning of colonization, infection and infectious illnesses, and the epidemiological importance and clinic of the infectious pathologies. - To know the principal mechanisms of transmission of the infectious agents. - To understand the behavioral determinants of the diffusion of the principal infections and infectious illnesses - To plan a suitable anamnesis for infectious diseases - To describe the clinical picture of the principal autochtonous infectious illnesses and importation - To plan a reasoned diagnostic iter for the infectious infections / illnesses - To understand the risks to the diffusion of the resistance antimicrobica and the importance of the correlated infections to the assistance - Signs of prevention of the infectious illnesses

The course will be taught using lectures, also based on real clinical cases, with the highest degree of interaction between the professor and the class
The exam aims to verify the knowledge of the topics listed in the official program of the course. The exam consists in a 1 hour written test characterized by multiple-choice questions. If the student does not pass the written exam, the exam will be oral. The knowledge of the topics will be verified through general questions, in answering to which the student will have to demonstrate language properties and good display skills as well as an adequate knowledge of the topics covered. The grade of this module (Infectious Diseases, Social and Community Medicine), will contribute together with the evaluations of the other 5 modules (Oncology, Clinical Psychology, Psychiatry, Preventive, Social and Community Medicine and Methodology of Profession) to generate the average that will constitute the final grade of the integrated course .
