√ The course is focused on a critical study of EU and national anti-discrimination law, with a prevailing case law approach.
General teaching aims
√ fact finding and problem solving;
√ comprehending, analysing and interpreting legal materials (statutes, regulations, case law, collective agreements) and relevant secondary materials, particularly scholarly writings;
√ developing data base research skills;
√ applying legal rules to factual situations and developing an appreciation of the difficulties and uncertainties entailed in doing so;
√ developing reasoned arguments in support of the application of particular rules in particular situations;
√ thinking critically about legal rules and institutions and their historical development;
√ stimulating students to discuss and work in groups.
